About your opportunity
Provide occupational therapy leadership within a specialist palliative care setting demonstrating a high level of knowledge and skill to support and advise other Occupational Therapists within the Townsville HHS working in oncology, palliative and cancer care incorporating clinical supervision, consulting, and quality activities. This includes the provision of clinical supervision and education as well as the identification and implementation of quality improvement activities.
You will be working in a supportive and friendly department where autonomy and innovation are highly valued, and ongoing learning and professional development opportunities are encouraged and supported. The role is part of multi-disciplinary team providing patient centred care in line with the organisational values and strategic directions.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Clinical Expertise - Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in Occupational Therapy services within an acute hospital setting.
Clinical Ability - Demonstrated ability to provide Occupational Therapy clinical services of a complex nature, where established principles, procedures and methods require some expansion, adaptation, or modification.
Communication - Demonstrated ability to provide general clinical advice and education sessions to professional and operational supervisors regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities.
Leadership - Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement, quality, and research initiative. Provide clinical supervision, performance appraisal and education to subordinate personnel.

Salary range: $4912.70 to $5286.40 p.f. (HP4)
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

Requirements:
The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy, and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
Roster: This position is required to work on weekends on a rostered basis through the Department's Weekend Service.
