What you'll be doing
The Women, Family & Emergency Care (WFEC) Team provides Social Work service to a wide range of clinical areas within Royal North Shore Hospital including, but not limited to; Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Maternity Ward, Birthing Unit, Antenatal Clinic (inc. Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit, Day Assessment Unit, Maternal Foetal Medicine Unit), Child & Adolescent Ward, Child & Adolescent Short Stay Ward, Surgical Short Stay Unit & Emergency Department (Adult & Paediatric).
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Social Worker is a Senior Clinician working with a multidisciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, and Allied Health professionals to provide care to premature and sick babies and their families. Support is available for all families that have a baby in the NICU; and to antenatal families over 24 week’s gestation on the RNSH Maternity Ward. The Senior Clinician (NICU) also provides comprehensive social work service in other clinical areas covered by the WFEC Team as directed by the Team Leader.
