As our Workshop Supervisor / Leading Hand Mechanic , you’ll lead day-to-day workshop operations with a hands-on approach, keeping work on schedule, supporting your team on the tools, and ensuring operations run efficiently across Dubbo and Wellington. You’ll take ownership of complex mechanical issues and play a key role in keeping Council’s fleet and plant operating reliably.
With a 9-day fortnight, a supportive team, you’ll use your experience to mentor and develop your team, sharing your expertise to build a capable, confident team that delivers consistent, high-quality work.

What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Certificate IV in a relevant discipline or Qualified and licenced Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic/Motor Mechanic with demonstrated solid experience in the trade.
- Demonstrated experience in supervision and leadership of a small team.
- Experience with Asset Management Systems and Software.
- High level of communication skills.
- Demonstrated competency in computer operation and data entry
We would also love you to have:
- IPWEA Fleet Management Certificate
- Current AIS Motor and Heavy Vehicle Inspection Authority
- Forklift Licence, Class HR Driving Licence or Refrigerant Licence

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $90,450 to $105,118 ($45.77 - $53.20 per hour) inclusive of market allowance.
