We are seeking an Asset Assessment Officer to support Council's transport and infrastructure functions by undertaking safety, condition and compliance inspections of Council assets, responding to customer requests, and providing accurate field-based information to support asset management and maintenance planning.

Your new role
As the Asset Assessment Officer, you will undertake inspections of Council's infrastructure to identify risks, assess asset condition, support maintenance planning and ensure timely responses to customer requests. Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting safety, condition (OCI) and compliance inspections of Council assets.
- Identifying hazards, defects and non-compliance issues, and escalating risks where required.
- Recording accurate inspection data, photographs and supporting information within Council's asset management systems.
- Investigating and responding to customer requests relating to Council infrastructure.
- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inspection and customer service records.
- Liaising with internal teams to coordinate maintenance activities and communicate inspection outcomes.
- Providing professional customer service and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualifications relevant to civil infrastructure, asset maintenance, spatial information services or a related field.
- A current Class C Driver's Licence and Construction Induction (White Card).
- Demonstrated experience undertaking field inspections, data collection and using GIS, GPS or asset management systems.
- Sound knowledge of civil infrastructure assets and the ability to assess defects, risks and maintenance priorities.
- Strong organisational, time management and administrative skills.
- Well-developed communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety and delivering quality customer outcomes.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Asset Management will be highly regarded but are not essential.
