With a focus on great food, excellent customer service, and a positive team culture, we are seeking a motivated and passionate Chef to join our growing kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of café-style dishes, including breakfast items, lunch options, seasonal dishes, and daily specials.
- Preparing, seasoning and cooking food in accordance with established recipes, quality standards and customer expectations.
- Monitoring food quality throughout preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure consistency and high standards.
- Assisting with menu planning, development of new dishes and seasonal menu offerings.
- Supervising and coordinating food preparation and kitchen operations during service periods.
- Ensuring meals are prepared efficiently while maintaining appropriate portion control and presentation standards.
- Managing stock levels, monitoring inventory and assisting with ordering food supplies as required.
- Inspecting ingredients and finished dishes to ensure freshness, quality and compliance with food safety requirements.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment at all times.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and food handling standards.
- Training, supporting and supervising kitchen staff where required.
- Assisting with rostering and maintaining smooth kitchen workflow during busy periods.
- Working collaboratively with management and front-of-house staff to provide excellent customer experiences.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
- Diploma of Hospitality Management, Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or a relevant qualification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Chef in a café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and modern café-style cuisine.
- Experience preparing breakfast, lunch, seasonal dishes, and quality food offerings.
- Understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, motivated, and passionate about delivering high-quality food.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
