Our team
Join one of Australia's leading Competition & Consumer Law teams and work alongside highly regarded Partners on Australian aspects of some of the most significant and complex matters globally and domestically.
As an Associate in our national team, which is recognised by the Global Competition Review as one of Australia's elite competition practices, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of high-profile competition and consumer law matters for Australian and international clients, including:
- ACCC investigations and enforcement action
- Australian aspects of domestic and global merger clearances
- Competition litigation and enforcement matters, including cartel matters
- Authorisations and exemption applications
- Consumer law and advisory mandates
Working closely with clients and international law firms, you'll collaborate with lawyers and partners and play a key role in delivering valuable outcomes to clients across a diverse range of sectors. This role is based in our Melbourne office with hybrid working arrangements available.
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- At least 3+ years' PAE in competition and consumer law gained at a well regarded firm in Australia or overseas in a Commonwealth jurisdiction, or equivalent relevant regulator expertise
- Excellent technical, analytical, drafting and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail
- A commercial, pragmatic and responsive approach to servicing clients and identifying solutions
- Strong communication and client management skills, and ability to work effectively within a dynamic, high performing team
- A collaborative and proactive mindset,
- Curiosity, a commitment to continuous learning, and an interest in business development, client training and thought leadership
