Job Title: Occupational Therapist — Flexible Contractor
Location: South East Melbourne, VIC
Job Type: Contract, Casual / Part-time hours (1–3 days a week)
About Exercare
Exercare is a mobile allied health practice based in South East Melbourne dedicated to empowering ability and enhancing lives through personalised evidence-based care. We specialise in exercise physiology and are now expanding into occupational therapy services supporting NDIS participants, aged care clients and self-funded individuals across the community.
About the Role
Referrals are offered per case with no minimum hours and you have full clinical autonomy over how you deliver care. We're looking for someone available 1–3 days a week — even half days are fine, genuinely flexible around what suits you. You'll work as an Occupational Therapist servicing NDIS participants (and self-funded clients as your caseload grows) across South East Melbourne, delivering Support in the Home services alongside assessments, functional capacity assessments and evidence-based interventions.
You'll have control over your own schedule and choose which clients you take on. Exercare handles referrals and leads and you bill through Exercare for the work you complete — so you can focus purely on clinical work. Attractive incentives and bonuses apply as your caseload grows.
Responsibilities
- Conducting occupational therapy assessments and functional capacity assessments
- Planning and delivering evidence-based, goal-oriented interventions
- Writing reports for NDIS plan reviews and funding requests
- Managing your own caseload and documentation to a professional standard
- Liaising with clients, families and support networks as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years post-graduation experience — this role is not suited to new graduates
- Strong hands-on NDIS experience — comfortable determining what's genuinely fundable, writing plan review reports and working with both plan-managed and self-managed participants
- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist in good standing
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening clearance (or willingness to apply)
- Reliable transport, a valid driver's licence and car insurance covering work-related driving
- Comfortable and confident working solo without a colleague or supervisor immediately on hand
How to Apply
Send your resume and a short note about your NDIS experience and availability to [email protected] — we'd love to hear from you.
