Female Support Worker Needed (Tamil Speaking)
We are seeking a caring and reliable female support worker.
Key Responsibilities
PCA – Roles and Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal hygiene, including showering, bathing, grooming, oral care and dressing.
Assist with toileting, continence care and changing continence products.
Assist clients with mobility, transfers, repositioning and walking, using appropriate equipment and safe manual-handling techniques.
Assist with meals, hydration and feeding according to the client's care plan.
Provide companionship and emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries.
Assist with approved domestic activities such as light cleaning, laundry, bed-making and meal preparation when included in the care plan.
Follow the client's individualised care plan and instructions/delegation provided by the RN or other authorised health professional.
Observe the client's general condition and promptly report changes or concerns to the supervising RN—for example, changes in mobility, skin condition, appetite, behaviour, pain or general wellbeing.
Complete accurate progress notes, care records and other required documentation after providing care.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including hand hygiene and appropriate PPE.
Follow safe manual handling, work health and safety, emergency and incident-reporting procedures.
Maintain the client's privacy, dignity, independence, choice and cultural preferences.
Recognise and report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation or other safeguarding concerns according to organisational procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of client and organisational information.
Attend required orientation, mandatory training, competency assessments and refresher training.
Work collaboratively with RNs, ENs, other support workers, families and relevant healthcare professionals.
Escalate immediately to the RN/manager when a client's needs are outside the PCA's scope or when there is a significant change in the client's condition.
Must have a valid Working with Children Check and relevant clearances
