- Key responsibilities:
- Plan menus and prepare daily meals for officers and crew
- Order, receive and safely store food and galley supplies
- Keep galley, mess rooms and food stores clean and well organized
- Follow hygiene, safety and company standards at all times
- Control provisions and reduce waste
- Work closely with the Master and officers on catering matters
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Chief Cook onboard seagoing vessels
- Valid seafarer documents, medical and relevant cook/catering certificates
- Good knowledge of food safety and galley hygiene
- Ability to cook varied, international meals for mixed crews
- Good communication skills and team spirit
- Fit for duty and willing to work on board in Australian waters
