Fleet Manager

With approximately 50 transport movements across the country daily, it is essential that our fleet of owned and leased vehicles are suitable, available and in safe operating condition at all times.
We are now seeking a Fleet Manager to support our Operations and Logistics Managers to:
- Plan daily fleet movements and allocate vehicles maximizing utilization of resources
- Ensure fleet is maintained in a safe and compliant condition
- Review current and projected needs to plan purchase or lease of additional vehicles
At least initially based in our Sydney headquarters, the Fleet Manager will:
- review weekly bookings and plan and implement transport schedules
- provide advice to sales teams and customers regarding appropriate vehicles to meet specific job needs
- undertake daily inspections of vehicles and ensure vehicles are secure at all times
- organise the regular maintenance, registration and licencing of vehicles
- oversee depot maintenance
- monitor use of fuel cards & company vehicles in line with company policies and directives
- develop and/or update & implement fleet administration standards and vehicle operating policies for use nationwide
- prepare quarterly budgets and reports concerning vehicle & equipment operating costs
- purchase and/or lease vehicles and equipment as required and arrange delivery
- manage insurance claims involving company vehicles and equipment
- maintain currency in relevant State and Federal Transport Regulations
We are looking for a person with:
- At least three years’ experience in removals / transport / logistics sector in Australia
- Experience in scheduling and logistics
- Experience in managing a budget
- Administrative experience including preparation of policies / systems documentation
- HR Truck licence or above
- Fork Lift licence
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer literacy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
We are offering a base salary of $90,000 + super for this full-time role.
