Concrete Schoolyard is looking for a calm, patient and genuinely people-focused support worker to join a small team supporting a female participant in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. She is quite independent and enjoys getting out and about, but at times can become emotionally overwhelmed. We’re looking for someone who knows how to listen first, give her space to express herself, and help her regulate without talking over her, taking control or making her feel rushed. This role would suit someone who is emotionally mature, grounded and able to build trust naturally. The focus is on supporting her to feel heard, maintain her independence and navigate difficult moments with reassurance and consistency. Clear, confident English communication is essential, as the participant needs someone who can communicate calmly, clearly and effectively. Experience in mental health, psychosocial disability, emotional regulation or trauma-informed support would be highly regarded. Current regular shifts are: Tuesday 9:30am–2:30pm Wednesday 9:30am–2:45pm Thursday 10:00am–1:30pm Friday 9:30am–1:00pm There is potential for ongoing regular work for the right person. Requirements: Current NDIS Worker Screening Check ABN Public liability and professional indemnity insurance Current driver’s licence Reliable vehicle Clear, confident English communication Relevant disability or mental health experience This is an independent contractor role.
