This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of our fleet vehicles, ensuring they are maintained, compliant, and available to support our cleaning operations. The successful candidate will also be required to operate company trucks and vehicles when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the company's fleet of vehicles.
- Schedule and allocate vehicles to staff and work sites.
- Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs, registrations, and insurance renewals.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
- Maintain fleet-related records and documentation.
- Liaise with mechanics, suppliers, and service providers regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor vehicle operating costs and assist with fleet budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and transport regulations.
- Supervise drivers and promote safe vehicle operating practices.
- Investigate vehicle breakdowns and arrange timely repairs.
- Drive company trucks and other fleet vehicles as required.
- Assist with the transportation of equipment, materials, and supplies to various work sites.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in fleet management, transport operations, logistics, or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and transport regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Valid driver's licence with the ability to operate trucks.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
