Beauty Therapist
Izumi Japanese Massage is seeking a skilled and professional Beauty Therapist to join our wellness and spa team in Melbourne CBD.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality beauty, facial, skin-care and body treatments to clients in a calm, professional and client-focused environment. The role involves consulting with clients, analysing their treatment needs, providing suitable beauty and body therapy services, and delivering a high standard of client care in accordance with the salon’s procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their treatment needs, skin concerns, preferences and any relevant contraindications.
- Analyse clients’ skin characteristics and provide advice on suitable skin-care treatments, facial therapies and aftercare.
- Perform facial treatments, including cleansing, exfoliation, facial massage, masks, hydration and skin-care application.
- Provide body treatments, including body scrubs, body wraps, body masks, body lotion application and other spa-based treatments.
- Perform relaxation-based body treatments and massage-related beauty therapy services as part of spa packages.
- Provide foot spa treatments, foot scrubs, basic foot-care treatments and reflexology-style relaxation services where required.
- Prepare treatment rooms, products, towels and equipment before and after each appointment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hygienic and relaxing treatment environment in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures.
- Recommend suitable treatments, packages, skin-care products and aftercare advice to clients.
- Maintain accurate client records, including treatment notes, client preferences and relevant contraindications.
- Assist with client bookings, treatment planning and daily salon operations where required.
- Work cooperatively with other therapists and staff to ensure a smooth and professional client experience.
Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant qualification in Beauty Therapy or a related field.
- Previous experience providing facials, skin-care treatments, body treatments, spa treatments or similar beauty therapy services.
- Good knowledge of skin care, facial treatments, body treatments, hygiene procedures and treatment room preparation.
- Strong client consultation skills and the ability to recommend suitable treatments based on client needs.
- Warm, professional and client-focused communication style.
- Reliable, well-presented and able to work effectively as part of a small professional team.
- Availability to work rostered hours, including weekends where required.
This position is suitable for a Beauty Therapist who is passionate about skin care, facial therapy, body treatments, relaxation, wellness and delivering high-quality client care.
Pay: $79,500.00 – $81,000.00 per year
