Port Augusta Technical College: Shaping the Future of Technical Education in South Australia
Port Augusta Technical College is a visionary institution that aims to revolutionize technical education in South Australia. The State Government is investing in Technical Colleges that will set the standard for excellence in their design, learning environment and delivery of skills-based training for school-enrolled students. Co-located with Port Augusta Secondary School, Port Augusta Technical College opened in July 2025 and is a part time enrolment model for secondary school students within the region to access whilst maintaining their enrolment in their current school.
Port Augusta Technical College has accommodation facilities on site and offer four industry training programs for careers in civil, resources and infrastructure, health and social support, hospitality and tourism, and multi-trades (for careers such as plumbers, builders, electricians, and boilermakers).

What you will do:
Support students to access industry experiences and pathway opportunities offered by the Port Augusta Technical College.
Manage the scheduling, logistics, administration, and compliance for industry immersion programs, work experience placements, and student program entries, ensuring smooth operations and timely reporting.
Deliver and support the Employability Skills Program, coach students on workplace behaviours, employability skills, and pathway readiness, and address barriers in collaboration with wellbeing staff.
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry partners, and training providers.
Oversee student placement processes, from assessing suitability and readiness to matching students with employers, resolving any issues, and ensuring safe and compliant workplace experiences.

What you will need:
Demonstrated high level communication and strong relationship-building skills with students, families, employers, and partners with the demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with local and regional employers.
Demonstrated high-level skills in organisation, administration, and scheduling, with the ability to exercise initiative, resolve problems, and make independent decisions to effectively support routines and expectations within a large and complex organisation.
Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring students.
Industry experience relevant to these roles.
Strong knowledge and understanding of local and regional industries, and pathways into VET, apprenticeships, traineeships and university.

Please note the salary amount may differ from that advertised. Salary is dependent upon your current employment status with the Department for Education, tenure and hours per week. The salary stated is based on an employee working 52 weeks per annum, full time equivalent. The successful applicant will be employed under the appropriate mode of employment. Hours may be negotiated.
