We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Legal Operations to lead and enhance the operational performance of our legal practice. This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality legal services while driving operational excellence, process improvement, compliance, financial performance and strategic growth initiatives across the firm.
Working closely with the Principals and Workplace Relations Team, the successful candidate will oversee legal operations, matter management, stakeholder engagement, contract administration, business improvement initiatives and the implementation of innovative legal technologies, including AI and knowledge management systems.

Task & responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Principals and the Workplace Relations Team in the management and delivery of legal matters, including legal research, drafting and reviewing contracts, workplace policies and legal documentation.
- Managing and coordinating client matters, including stakeholder communications, documentation requirements and key deadlines.
- Preparing, reviewing, negotiating and administering contracts, agreements and legal precedents.
- Leading financial hygiene initiatives, including time recording, billing practices and matter management.
- Developing and maintaining internal policies, procedures and operational systems.
- Supporting the implementation of AI, knowledge management and process improvement initiatives.
- Assisting with marketing, client engagement, seminars, publications and business development activities.
- Contributing to the firm's strategic growth and sustainability objectives.
Qualification & experience
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor, Master of Laws or equivalent legal qualification.
- Minimum four (4) years' experience in legal practice, legal operations, workplace relations, employment law, contract management, compliance, or a related professional services environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing legal matters, stakeholder relationships and competing deadlines.
- Strong legal research, drafting and contract review skills.
- Experience developing operational processes, compliance frameworks and business improvement initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen, communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in employment and workplace relations law will be highly regarded.
- Experience supporting business development, client engagement and strategic growth initiatives will be highly regarded.
Pay: $105,000.00 – $195,685.32 per year
