JUMP! Swim Schools was created to provide babies, toddlers and young children with a more personal and supportive environment to learn to swim.
Unlike larger aquatic centres, JUMP! Wallan is a boutique swim school with a close-knit team where our families are known by name and every team member plays an important part in the experience we provide.
We are currently looking for a friendly, organised and highly reliable Administrative / Front Desk Team Member to join our team for an immediate start.
Applicants MUST be available to work evenings and weekends. Please only apply if you can commit to these hours on an ongoing basis.
This is a casual position.
About the role
As one of the first points of contact for our families, you will play an important role in ensuring the day-to-day operation of the swim school runs smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming families and providing a friendly, professional front desk experience
- Responding to phone calls, emails and customer enquiries
- Managing bookings, enrolments and customer accounts
- Assisting families with lesson changes, make-up lessons and general account enquiries
- Processing payments and assisting with outstanding account matters where required
- Maintaining accurate customer records and administrative information
- Completing daily front desk and operational tasks
- Assisting with attendance records and class administration
- Communicating clearly with parents, teachers and management
- Supporting management with general administration and operational duties
- Helping maintain a clean, organised and professional reception and customer area
- Following JUMP! policies, procedures and customer service standards
- Assisting with opening and/or closing procedures when rostered
- Handling customer concerns professionally and escalating matters to management where required
About you
Our swim school prides itself on providing a personal experience for every family. We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent customer service skills
- Is confident speaking with customers both in person and over the phone
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills
- Is organised and able to manage multiple tasks at once
- Is comfortable using computers, booking systems, email and basic administration software
- Has strong attention to detail
- Is friendly, approachable and professional
- Enjoys working around children and families
- Can remain calm and professional in a busy environment
- Takes initiative and does not need to be constantly supervised
- Is reliable, punctual and mature
- Understands the importance of confidentiality when handling customer information
- Works well both independently and as part of a small team
- Is willing to take responsibility and contribute to the overall operation of the swim school
Essential requirements
Successful applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain prior to commencing:
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current National Police Check
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- Availability to work evenings and weekends on an ongoing basis
Previous reception, administration, customer service, medical reception, childcare, hospitality, retail or similar experience would be highly regarded.
Experience within a swim school or children's activity business is an advantage but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who genuinely wants to become part of the JUMP! Wallan team, can commit to their rostered shifts and understands that our busiest periods include weekday evenings and weekends.
This position would suit someone who enjoys customer interaction but also loves organisation, administration and being involved in the day-to-day running of a business.
