Procurement Advisor
The Opportunity
Downer’s Energy & Utilities Water Services business is seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor to support the delivery of the Unitywater Program and other key water infrastructure projects across Southeast Queensland.
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Advisor, this role is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, subcontractor engagement, supplier negotiations, governance compliance, and commercial support throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers, Contract Managers, Commercial teams, and key stakeholders, you'll help ensure procurement outcomes deliver value, mitigate risk, and support successful project delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a collaborative program environment where strong relationships, innovation, and commercial excellence drive project success. The role operates within a hybrid working model, with a minimum of three days per week spent in the office or on-site alongside the program team.
What You'll Do
- Lead procurement processes for subcontractor and supplier packages across major water infrastructure projects.
- Negotiate subcontract and supplier agreements that deliver strong commercial and project outcomes.
- Provide procurement, contract, governance, and commercial support to project and operational teams.
- Analyse procurement performance data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, value, and supplier performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, customers, and internal stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a commercially minded procurement professional who thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management, commercial management, or a related discipline within construction, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering environments.
- Strong experience managing subcontractor and supplier procurement packages, including negotiations, contract execution, and close-out activities.
- Well-developed commercial acumen with the ability to identify risks, opportunities, and value creation initiatives.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers.
Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Commercial Management, Contract Management, Finance, Law, or a related discipline (preferred).
