Simply Seated is a national event hire, styling and exhibition company delivering projects for some of Australia's most recognised brands, agencies, venues and event organisers. With offices and warehouses in Sydney and Melbourne, we specialise in exhibitions, conferences, corporate events, custom builds, large-format print, furniture hire and premium event infrastructure.
As we continue to expand our exhibitions division, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – Exhibitions to drive new business opportunities and grow our presence across trade shows, conferences, exhibitions and experiential activations.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone already working within the exhibitions, events, stand-building or experiential marketing industry who has established relationships and a strong understanding of the exhibition landscape.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across:
- Exhibition stand design and construction
- Trade shows and conferences
- Experiential and brand activations
- Custom-built displays and feature installations
- Large-format print and signage
- Shell scheme upgrades and sponsorship activations
- Furniture, styling and event infrastructure
You will work closely with our design, production and operations teams to develop creative solutions that help clients stand out and achieve their objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and convert new business opportunities across exhibitions and events
- Develop relationships with exhibition organisers, agencies, venues and direct clients
- Build a pipeline of exhibitors requiring custom stands and activation solutions
- Attend industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities
- Identify sponsorship and preferred supplier opportunities
- Prepare proposals, presentations and sales strategies
- Work with our design team to develop concepts and quotations
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets
About You
You will ideally have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in exhibitions, events, experiential marketing or stand construction sales
- Existing industry relationships and networks
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Experience managing sales pipelines and converting opportunities
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with creative and operational teams
- Experience using CRM systems (HubSpot experience highly regarded)
