Position Summary
The Night Auditor / Overnight Receptionist is responsible for completing the hotel's overnight financial reconciliation while providing professional and efficient guest service. This role ensures all daily transactions are accurately balanced, the business date is rolled correctly, and the Front Office operates smoothly throughout the night.
Key ResponsibilitiesNight Audit
- Complete the nightly audit and end-of-day process.
- Reconcile all room, cash, EFTPOS, credit card, and direct bill transactions.
- Balance the Front Office float and investigate any discrepancies.
- Review guest folios and ensure charges are posted correctly.
- Generate and distribute daily financial and operational reports.
- Process the business date rollover in Opera Cloud.
Front Office
- Perform guest check-ins and check-outs.
- Handle guest enquiries and overnight requests.
- Process payments, security bonds, and cash transactions.
- Maintain accurate reservation and guest profile information.
- Complete shift handovers and record important operational notes.
Security and Operations
- Monitor the safety and security of the hotel overnight.
- Conduct routine property checks.
- Report maintenance issues and unusual incidents.
Key Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with cash handling and financial reconciliation.
- Ability to work independently and manage overnight operations.
- Experience with Opera Cloud or a similar PMS is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
The primary focus of this role is to ensure the hotel's daily financial reconciliation is completed accurately while maintaining a safe and professional overnight operation.
Pay: $24.95 – $43.37 per hour
