About the Role
Ador Energy is looking for a Junior Solar Electrical Trade Assistant to join our solar and battery installation team.
This is a casual position offering approximately 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, depending on our installation schedule.
We're looking for someone who already has hands-on electrical experience and wants to develop their skills in solar, batteries and commercial renewable-energy projects.
An electrical licence is not required, however previous electrical experience is essential.
You'll work alongside our licensed electricians and experienced solar installers across residential and commercial projects throughout Sydney and NSW.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting with residential and commercial solar installations
- Assisting licensed electricians with electrical installation activities
- Assisting with cable runs and cable management
- Assisting with solar and battery wiring within the work you're legally permitted to perform
- Assisting with inverter and battery installations
- Installing solar panels and mounting equipment
- Assisting with preparation for switchboard works
- Preparing equipment and materials
- Using hand and power tools
- Loading and unloading equipment
- Setting up and packing down sites
- Maintaining clean and safe worksites
- Following instructions from electricians and senior installers
- Working on residential solar, commercial solar and battery/BESS projects
What We're Looking For
Previous electrical experience is essential.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has hands-on electrical experience
- Understands basic electrical equipment and cabling
- Is confident using hand and power tools
- Is comfortable working on roofs and at heights
- Is physically capable of installation work
- Is reliable and punctual
- Has strong attention to detail
- Can follow instructions
- Works well within a team
- Wants to develop their solar and battery experience
- Holds a current driver's licence and has reliable transport
Highly Regarded
- Solar installation experience
- Battery installation experience
- Electrical Trade Assistant experience
- Previous electrical apprenticeship experience
- Electrical studies or qualifications
- Experience with inverters or switchboards
- White Card
- Working at Heights ticket
- EWP ticket
- First Aid/CPR
You do not need to hold an electrical licence for this position. Any work requiring an electrical licence must be performed in accordance with NSW licensing and supervision requirements.
Hours
Casual – approximately 38 hours per week
Monday to Friday
Hours and start/finish times will depend on installation schedules and site locations. Early starts are common.
Most projects are located throughout Sydney, with occasional travel elsewhere in NSW for commercial projects.
Pay
The hourly rate will depend on experience and will include the applicable casual loading where required.
