About the role
The Clinical Midwife Student Clinical Facilitator provides clinical facilitation and support for undergraduate student midwives undertaking clinical placements within the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. The role focuses on creating a positive learning environment that supports the integration of theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, enabling students to develop the skills, knowledge and professional behaviours required for safe and effective midwifery practice.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with midwifery educators, nurse educators, clinical staff and education providers to support student learning, assess clinical performance and provide ongoing feedback throughout placements. The role also contributes to fostering a culture of continuous learning while delivering advanced clinical midwifery care and promoting evidence-based practice within the clinical environment.

Facilitate and support undergraduate student midwives during clinical placements, assisting them to develop clinical knowledge, skills and professional confidence.
Provide constructive formative and summative feedback, assess student performance and liaise with education providers regarding learning outcomes and progression.
Promote an evidence-based learning environment that supports continuous professional development and high-quality midwifery practice.
Collaborate effectively with midwives, educators and multidisciplinary teams to foster a positive culture of learning within the clinical setting.
Deliver advanced clinical midwifery care and provide leadership, guidance and support in responding to complex patient care needs.
