FTE: Part-Time (0.7FTE) max-term contract until 30th June 2027 (possibility of an extension)

Location: Based at our Ipswich office on the lands of the Yuggera/Yagara People

Salary: $40.49 - $44.29ph (depending on experience) + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550
About the Program
LEAP (Lived Experience Activity Program) is a peer-led mental health recovery program that supports people with lived experience of severe and complex mental health challenges. Guided by the Intentional Peer Support (IPS) framework, the program provides meaningful group activities, connection, and shared learning to help participants build skills, confidence, community, and wellbeing.
Your Role, Your Impact
As a Peer Support Worker / Group Facilitator, you will use your lived experience of mental health recovery to instill hope and confidence in others. You’ll play a vital role in helping participants live meaningful, self-directed lives, supporting them through group activities, individual planning, and ongoing engagement.
Key responsibilities:

Use your lived experience to engage participants and build their self-management and peer relationships.

Facilitate peer-led groups that foster hope, connection, and recovery.

Collaborate with participants, carers, and providers to co-develop and review Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs).

Create safe and inclusive environments for group and individual engagement.
-
Monitor participant attendance and follow up to support ongoing engagement.

Support community outreach and awareness initiatives.
-
Maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to program evaluation.

Respond to crisis situations in line with Each’s risk policy.

Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
Who We’re Looking For
This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking an experienced professional with the confidence and capability to support groups of individuals affected by severe and complex mental health challenges. You will bring a strong understanding of recovery and be comfortable navigating complex service systems as well as bringing the below:

Lived experience of mental illness and personal recovery.
-
Experience facilitating groups and supporting individuals and families impacted by mental health.
-
Understanding of integrated service models, including collaboration with child protection, clinical mental health, AOD and community services.

Proficient in MS Office and electronic client record systems.
-
Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously.
-
Strong written communication and administrative skills.
-
Understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented practice.
-
Adaptable, solution-focused, and open to feedback.
Qualifications

Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent)

Intentional Peer Support Core Training (Certificate desirable)
-
Current driver’s licence (Probationary or Open)
