Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements in accordance with accounting standards
- Prepare financial statements and taxation documents for individuals, companies, trusts, and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs)
- Assist with SMSF accounting, administration, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST returns, income tax returns, and other statutory obligations
- Manage accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial documentation
- Review and analyse financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
- Maintain compliance with Australian taxation legislation, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with clients, external auditors, financial advisors, and regulatory authorities where required
- Maintain and update accounting systems and client records
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and service quality
- Provide professional support and advice to clients regarding accounting matters
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as an Accountant
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles, taxation requirements, and compliance obligations
- Experience with SMSF accounting and administration will be highly regarded
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, Class Super, BGL, or similar platforms
- Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
- CPA/CA qualification (or working towards completion) will be considered an advantage
