Senior Business Analyst - Inventory Transformation
12 Month Fixed Term Contract
About the Opportunity
At CSR, we're embarking on a strategic inventory transformation initiative designed to optimise inventory performance, strengthen supply chain capabilities, and drive operational excellence across the business.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support this critical transformation program from discovery and diagnostic phases through to future-state design and implementation.
Working closely with the Project Manager and key business stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in analysing current inventory practices, identifying optimisation opportunities, and developing actionable insights that help shape the future of inventory management across CSR.
This is a unique opportunity to influence enterprise-wide change while working across procurement, planning, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, finance, and commercial functions.
Importantly, this is not a traditional IT Business Analyst role. We are looking for a commercially minded analyst with strong supply chain, inventory management, process improvement, and business transformation experience.
About the Role
As the Business Analyst, you will partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, and the Project Manager to assess current-state processes, analyse inventory performance, and support the development of future-state operating models and inventory management frameworks.
You will leverage data, analytics, and stakeholder insights to uncover opportunities for improvement, challenge existing ways of working, and support the delivery of sustainable business outcomes.
Key focus areas will include:
- Inventory performance analysis and optimisation
- Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) and Minimum Production Quantities (MPQ)
- Demand planning and forecasting processes
- Product lifecycle inventory management
- Inventory governance and decision-making frameworks
- Business process analysis and redesign
- Data-driven improvement opportunities
- Benefits identification and tracking
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of a strategic inventory transformation program across the business.
- Gather, document, and analyse business requirements through stakeholder engagement and workshops.
- Conduct detailed analysis of inventory data, processes, policies, and performance metrics.
- Identify trends, root causes, risks, and opportunities to improve inventory outcomes.
- Map current-state processes and support the design of future-state operating models and workflows.
- Develop process maps, business requirements, analysis packs, and decision-support materials.
- Partner with procurement, planning, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, finance, and commercial teams to understand operational challenges and improvement opportunities.
- Support workshop facilitation and capture outcomes, requirements, and actions.
- Assist in developing business cases, benefits assessments, and implementation recommendations.
- Create reporting dashboards, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
- Support change management activities by assessing impacts and assisting with adoption planning.
- Monitor and track key performance metrics throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to project governance, status reporting, risk identification, and issue management activities.
About You
You are a curious and analytical professional who enjoys solving complex business problems through data, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement.
You have experience working within supply chain, inventory, operations, or transformation environments and can confidently translate business challenges into meaningful insights and practical solutions.
You enjoy working collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups and are comfortable navigating ambiguity while supporting large-scale business change initiatives.
You'll Bring
- Experience as a Senior Business Analyst supporting business transformation, supply chain, inventory, or operational improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into business recommendations.
- Experience with inventory management principles and supply chain processes.
- Knowledge of procurement, planning, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and finance operations.
