At Balance Family Law, we believe there's a kinder, more respectful and more effective way to practise family law.
We're a purpose-driven, multi-award-winning family and wills and estates law firm committed to helping people navigate separation with dignity. Rather than fuelling conflict, we focus on practical, client-centred solutions that help families move forward. Alongside family law, we also support clients with estate planning so they can plan confidently for the future.
We're looking for an exceptional law student who has already discovered that family law is where they belong. We're seeking someone who can demonstrate a genuine commitment to family law through their studies, work experience, volunteering, research, competitions, community involvement, or simply through the experiences that have inspired them to pursue this area of practice. We want to understand what has drawn you to family law and why you see it as the career you want to build.
If you have an interest in wills and estates as well, we'll happily help you develop that alongside your family law career.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending client conferences and preparing detailed file notes
- Assisting with client onboarding, conflict checks and file management
- Drafting correspondence, court documents and legal forms for solicitor review
- Legal research
- Preparing disclosure material, chronologies, briefs and mediation bundles
- Assisting with court filings, diary management and billing administration
- Providing outstanding client service while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice
