What you will need
A least 1 year of hands on experience as a cook working in a similar environment and role
certificate iii or above in comercial cookery or kitchen management
Passion for and knowledge of the food industry
Excellent time management and teamwork skills
A desire to work in a professional, disciplined environment
A drive for knowledge and career development
Tasks & responsibilities
prepare season and cook a variety of dishes on the menu
inspect and assess food items to ensure quality and freshness prior to use
accurately measure weigh and prepare ingredients using appropriate kitchen tools and equipment
monitor and regulate temp of ovens grills and other cooking equipment to ensure proper cooking conditions
cook meats seafood vegetables and other ingredients using methods such as grilling roasting boiling sauteing and frying
taste smell and visually check food during preparation to ensure quality and correct seasoning
portion and present dishes attractively adding sauces dressings and garnish
store food and ingredients in temp controlled facilities in line with food and safety and hygiene standards
prepare meals to accommodate special dietry requirements and food allergies where necessary
maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in food preparation and kitchen areas in compliance with health regulations
support stock control monitoring inventory levels manage waste and ensure proper storage of supplies
train mentor and assist other kitchen staff as required
preform other related duties as required in a fast paced kitchen environment.
Salary range: 79,500 plus supperannuation
