Improve the reliability of generation assets powering WA’s remote communities
Join Horizon Power as a
Reliability Engineer. In this pivotal role, you'll drive the performance, reliability and long term value of critical generation assets that keep regional WA connected and thriving.
Working across a diverse portfolio of diesel, solar and battery generation systems, you'll play a key role in shaping how assets are maintained, optimised and improved. From developing maintenance strategies and analysing asset performance to leading technical investigations and providing specialist engineering advice, your work will directly influence operational reliability and asset outcomes across our generation network.
You’ll join a results driven team that values clear decision making, practical thinking and strong stakeholder engagement. You'll enjoy the autonomy to take ownership, challenge conventional thinking and help shape the future of reliability engineering across Horizon Power's remote generation assets.
Your role in action:
- Develop, review and continuously improve maintenance and reliability strategies for generation assets, including diesel gensets, solar PV, BESS and balance of plant equipment.
- Support delivery of the generation Asset Management Plan, including 5 to 10 programs of work each year such as engine, switchboard and fuel tank replacements.
- Analyse asset performance, reliability trends and recurring failures, and lead or participate in investigations to identify practical improvement opportunities.
- Maintain and improve generation asset data, including asset registers, maintenance plans, equipment hierarchies and master data.
- Provide technical advice and engineering support for maintenance, project delivery, commissioning, asset handover and operational readiness activities.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven and successful experience in power generation, ideally across generation asset management, maintenance strategies, planning and operational practices.
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline.
- Working knowledge of generation assets, including diesel generation, solar, renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use asset data, reliability information and performance trends to support better decision making.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with internal teams, Regional Service Providers, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders.
