Your expertise in Queensland's regional ecosystems, ecological processes, GIS and/or environmental management will be utilised in undertaking desktop and field assessments, as well as providing technical advice to landholders, management and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
What you need for this role:

- Knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, of policy, legislation and frameworks as they relate to the declaration and administration of private protected areas (nature refuges and special wildlife reserves).
- Demonstrated skills and experience in field operations, ideally including remote areas, with a strong understanding and practical application of workplace health and safety procedures.
- Project management skills, including the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities, manage change, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Analytical, research and problem-solving skills including the ability to review and synthesise information from multiple sources, draw accurate conclusions and provide authoritative advice to decision-makers.
- Demonstrated high level of oral and written communication skills particularly with respect to the preparation of accurate and concise, reports, technical and policy documents, policy submissions, and briefing papers.
