About the Role
The Anaesthetic Technician plays a vital role in supporting the anaesthetic team during the perioperative phase, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of anaesthesia. This includes preparation and maintenance of anaesthesia equipment, assisting with patient positioning and monitoring, and ensuring a sterile environment in the operating theatre. The Anaesthetic Technician works under the direct supervision of the anaesthetist and collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements of the Role
Essential:
- Completion of an accredited Anaesthetic Technician course or equivalent training in anaesthesia technology.
- Previous experience in anaesthesia support within a perioperative environment, or relevant clinical experience.
- A strong understanding of anaesthetic equipment, pharmacology, and monitoring systems.
- Ability to ensure the proper setup and operation of equipment, as well as accurate documentation of patient care and equipment status.
- Ability to monitor and respond to changes in patient conditions during anaesthesia and recovery.
- Understanding and adherence to infection control protocols, patient safety regulations, and anaesthetic standards.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining clinical competencies.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic by consistently displaying punctuality, integrity, respect for others, and a dedication to professional standards.

You will be required to have or able to obtain:
- Tertiary qualification in nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- Verification of eligibility to work in Australia.
- Identification check validation.
- Police check clearance.
