The Opportunity
We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Employers Liability team in Sydney on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive legal support professional to work closely with lawyers and partners across a range of workers compensation matters. You will play a critical role in supporting the progression of matters, managing key deadlines and helping to deliver exceptional client service.
Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will gain valuable exposure to litigation matters while developing your legal support skills and building a rewarding career within a national law firm.
Your Role
- Prepare legal documents, correspondence and court materials.
- Coordinate briefs to Counsel and other matter related documentation.
- Support lawyers in the progression of employers liability and workplace injury matters.
- Manage court deadlines, diaries and key dates.
- Prepare and process billing and other financial administration tasks.
- Open, maintain and close files in accordance with firm procedures.
- Manage incoming calls, correspondence and stakeholder enquiries.
- Maintain accurate electronic filing systems and matter records.
- Provide administrative and practice support to lawyers and the wider team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or administrative support role.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
- A proactive, responsive and team focused approach.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Desirable
- Experience within a legal or professional services environment.
- Exposure to billing processes and legal practice management systems.
- Familiarity with court documentation and litigation processes.
- Experience supporting insurance, workers compensation or litigation teams.
