We do a lot of our learning through on the job training, which helps us build confidence and understand the day to day tasks more clearly. It keeps everything practical and straightforward, and we learn by doing.
We’re a very busy store, so there are always jobs to be done! The pace means we stay active and focused, and it feels good to work alongside a team that’s reliable and supportive. We also appreciate each other’s efforts. Sometimes it’s formal service recognition, or it might also be a simple thank you or even a coffee to acknowledge hard work. Small things make a difference and we do whatever we can to keep our team motivated to achieve our goals – and theirs!
A typical day might look like:
- Helping customers with queries, keeping shelves stocked, and ensuring transactions run smoothly
- Replenish stock and maintain inventory levels
- Serve customers and process purchases through our POS system
- Setting up displays for catalogue promotions
