Experienced Disability Support Worker | Empowered Futures

Empowered Futures is seeking an experienced and highly capable Disability Support Worker to join our team supporting people with multiple disabilities, complex health needs and high support requirements in their homes and communities across Brisbane's western suburbs and Ipswich.
Our supports are primarily delivered in a 1:1 model and require experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centered support.

Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Minimum 2 years' experience supporting people with complex and multiple disabilities including:
- Medication administration
- Full personal care
- Manual handling (including use of hoists)
- Experience providing supports in both home (SIL) and community environments
- A current QLD Driver Licence and confidence driving wheelchair-accessible vehicles (vans)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Eligibility to obtain or hold a Blue Card and Yellow Card
- Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster, including:
- Early mornings and through the day shifts
- Afternoon and into the evening shifts
- Regular active awake overnight shifts each fortnight
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and contribute positively within a team
- Confidence supporting participants with swimming and pool-based activities
Highly Desirable Experience
Experience supporting people with:
- Epilepsy management
- PEG feeding
- Positive Behaviour Support implementation
- Complex communication systems, including PODD, PECS and iGaze

This role is not suitable for school leavers, recent graduates, students seeking experience or applicants new to the disability sector.
