The Armadale Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) Hub is an innovative, integrated service delivered in partnership with Yorgum Healing Services and a range of specialist organisations. Together, we provide coordinated, culturally responsive and multidisciplinary support to individuals and families impacted by family and domestic violence.

Joining the FDV Hub means becoming part of a collaborative team of specialists dedicated to improving outcomes for victim survivors, families and communities across the Armadale region.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate FDV Counsellor to join the Waullo Dawn Healing Service team within the Armadale FDV Hub.
In this role, you will provide specialised trauma-informed therapeutic support to individuals impacted by family and domestic violence. Working from a person-centred, strengths-based framework, you will support victim survivors on their healing journey by delivering counselling and coordinated care that promotes recovery, empowerment and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities

Provide individual counselling, therapeutic support, education and referrals for individuals affected by family and domestic violence.

Deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions tailored to the unique needs and goals of each client.

Support clients to strengthen protective factors, enhance emotional wellbeing and achieve recovery outcomes.

Conduct risk assessments, safety planning and utilise the WA Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework (CRARMF) where appropriate.

Maintain a counselling caseload and provide ongoing support to improve client safety and wellbeing.

Facilitate or co-facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for victim survivors.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary discussions and Multi-Agency Case Management (MACM) meetings.

Maintain accurate client records, case notes and reporting requirements in line with organisational and legislative standards.

Represent the FDV Hub through networking, community engagement and stakeholder collaboration opportunities.

$100,776.00 annual salary + superannuation.
Fixed-term contract - 30/06/2027 end date (unless extended).
38 hours per week - Mon-Fri.

You'll Need
Essential
-
Degree or Diploma in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline.
-
Minimum two years' experience providing therapeutic support within the family and domestic violence, community services or related sector.

Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of family and domestic violence and the challenges experienced by victim survivors.
-
Experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions and trauma-informed care.

Ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and other priority populations.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder networks.

Strong organisational, administrative and case documentation skills.
-
Commitment to reflective practice, professional boundaries and ongoing learning.
Highly Desirable

Eligibility for membership with ACA, AASW, PACFA, AHPRA or another relevant professional body.

Experience working with the WA Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework (CRARMF) and safety planning.

Knowledge of Safe & Together, the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children, and relevant WA FDV frameworks and practice standards.

Experience facilitating therapeutic or psychoeducational groups.

Passion for supporting victim survivors of family and domestic violence.

Demonstrated commitment to accountable, transparent and reflective practice.
Pre-Employment Requirements

Current C or A Class Driver's Licence.

Current National Police Clearance (within three months).

Current Working with Children Check.
