About Maven by Morgan
Maven is a modern restaurant on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, owned and led by chef Morgan Hipworth. We run a seasonal menu, a busy private dining room, and the venue is growing with extended trading hours and a larger functions offering on the way.
The role
We're looking for a Chef de Partie to join the kitchen full time. You'll run your own section during service, work closely with our Head Chef, and have genuine input into the menu as it changes with the seasons. It's a small, tight team where good ideas get used.
What you'll be doing
- Running a section during service to a consistent standard
- Prep and mise en place, done properly
- Contributing to menu development across seasonal changes
- Maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards
- Helping guide junior members of the kitchen
What we're looking for
- Experience as a CDP, or a strong demi ready to step up
- Sound technique across proteins, sauces and larder
- Organised, calm during service and consistent under pressure
- A real interest in produce and modern cooking
- Availability across evenings and weekends on a rotating roster
