CatholicCare Tasmania is the primary social services agency of the Catholic Church across Tasmania. The Safe Choices Service provide practical support, advice and referral services to people who are in violent relationships and those who wish to leave those relationships. This service is part of the continuum of support services available to the Tasmanian community through Tasmania's Third Family and Sexual Violence Action Plan 2022-2027: Survivors at the Centre
How you will make an impact
The Safe Choices Case Manager will participate in all service delivery of the SafeChoices program including intake and assessment, along with providing case work including case planning services to those Safe Choices clients who may require on-going support. This role will report directly to the regional SafeChoices Team Leader.
Selection Criteria

Demonstrated experience in service coordination and the application of case management principles and practice, including experience and understanding of risk and needs assessment frameworks and applications and managing a case load.
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs of women and children escaping from Domestic and Family violence, including current legislation and knowledge of local, state and interstate support options and services.
- Demonstrated analytical, verbal and written communication skills including report writing and maintaining case files.
- Demonstrated experience in exercising considerable initiative, discretion and professional judgement and accept personal responsibility within the full scope of the role.
- Proven ability to work within a team environment and network effectively, including resourcefulness and organisation skills.
Essential Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or other relevant discipline.
- Satisfactory police check, to be completed on a 3 yearly basis from commencement. Crimes involving violence, aggression, drugs, fraud, dishonesty, and excessive motor vehicle related offences would be cause for discontinuance
- Must maintain current and valid Working with Vulnerable People registration; and must carry evidence of this at all times of employment.
- Maintaining a current driver's license is a requirement of this role.
