Opening in July 2026, Heirloom is a coastal kitchen and dining space nestled within a stunning new retirement living community just south of Sydney. With sweeping waterfront views, a Mediterranean soul, and a deep love for shared stories and slow meals, Heirloom is where old traditions meet new memories—open to the public, but grounded in the lives of our residents, their families, and friends.
We’re looking for a Casual Cook to join our founding team—someone who cooks with care, consistency, and creativity, and who thrives on making every dining experience memorable.
Your opportunity
As a Cook, you’ll ensure a high standard of food and service to Cafe customers and functions through preparation of safe, quality food products and service clients and customers’ needs by leading and completing tasks and attending to all aspects of health and safety.
With care and attention, you will:

Coordinate café and function operations, including bookings, quotes, and customer enquiries.

Collaborate on menu planning and manage food and stock ordering.

Monitor budgets, drive sales opportunities, and improve operational efficiency.

Lead, train, and support café staff.

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and WHS compliance.

Manage stocktakes, ordering, and related administration.
What you’ll bring
You’re a reliable and motivated team player with a passion for food and hospitality. You’ll need:

Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments

Sound knowledge of safe food handling practices

Ability to follow structured recipes and food safety procedures

Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent

A willingness to contribute to a positive, client-focused team culture
Desirable:

Food Safety or Food Handling Certificate

Experience working in aged care, hospital, or production kitchen settings
