What you'll be doing
You'll provide practical, hands-on support to the Medical Imaging Department under the supervision and direction of a Radiographer. Your reliability, communication skills and attention to detail will help keep patients and the department moving safely and efficiently.
Assist with patient transfers, lifts and positioning, including the safe use of wheelchairs and manual handling equipment.
Prepare and maintain imaging areas by cleaning equipment, tidying rooms and restocking essential supplies.
Support departmental administration, including documentation and accurate data entry into the Radiology Information System (RIS) and other systems.
Communicate respectfully and confidentially with patients, support people and healthcare teams, escalating relevant changes or concerns to the Radiographer.
Manage competing priorities, follow delegated tasks within your scope of practice and maintain a strong focus on safety, infection control and patient experience.

Qualifications are recognised within the Allied Health Assistant classification, with salary level determined by your relevant qualifications and experience:
Level 1 – No Qualifications.
Level 2 – Completion of 12 or more months' service as an Allied Health Assistant Level 1 or Certificate III, or other qualification deemed equivalent, or successfully assessed as possessing competencies required for Cert III by way of RPL.
Level 3 –Certificate IV qualification or other qualification deemed equivalent or successfully assessed as possessing competencies required for Cert IV by way of RPL.

Qualifications:

Selection Criteria:
Knowledge or experience of working within a healthcare setting.
Basic understanding of radiation safety principles.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Radiographer.
Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles.
Ability to perform shift work with a demonstrated high degree of reliability and punctuality.
