Thomastown Childcare Centre and Kindergarten is a 35 place, Community Childcare Centre and Non-Profit Organisation. We cater for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old. We have been in operation for over 30 years and managed by a Parent Committee. We have 3 Children's Rooms catering for Babies, Toddlers and Kindergarten which is run by our ECT. We are a small team of dedicated staff who have been at the centre for a number of years. We are a play based learning centre and committed to providing high quality of care for each child. Thomastown Childcare Centre is a child safe organisation and we strongly uphold our child safety policies and procedures.
Job DescriptionAward wages apply. We are looking for a casual/relief Educator to work with all age groups (0 to 5 year old Children.) The hours and days will vary each week. Availability between our operational hours 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Award wages apply . **Key Responsibilities:** Engage with children in a positive and engaging manner. Always demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety and child safe practices. Develop and maintain positive and respectful relationships with children. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs for children. Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all children Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard and Child Safe Standards Collaborate with colleagues to support the needs of children Maintain a clean and organized childcare space. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Minimum 3 years of experience in similar role * Certificate III (or ACECQA approved equivalent) * Knowledge of Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards * Current Working with Children Check (employee) * Current First Aid and CPR Certificate * Child Protection Certificate * Proficient reading and writing skills * Excellent communication, team work and leadership skills * Thorough understanding of the National model code * Demonstrate practices that promote the inclusion of all children. * Thorough understanding of Child Safe Standards
