Handyman/Storeperson/Driver
An extraordinary multi-tasking individual is required for a business that provides professional equipment, installation and advice to the Performing Arts sectors.
We are a small enthusiastic team, passionate about what we do and require a skilled and motivated hands on person, preferably with some experience in light fabrication, carpentry and installation to work with a small team.
You will be courteous, trustworthy and punctual, able to relate to others and coordinate a diverse range of projects. You will ideally hold an OHS White Card, manual driver’s licence, some tools, forklift licence and have basic carpentry and metal working skills.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee Operations: Manage all workshop activities, ensuring efficiency and high-quality output.
- Staff Management: Supervise casual staff, ensuring performance meets company standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all workshop equipment is safe and well-maintained.
- Client Interaction: Act as the primary contact for clients, offering support and advice.
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance workshop productivity.
- Safety Management: Develop and enforce safe working practices and risk management plans.
- Project Collaboration: Work with other departments to manage workshop materials and resources.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff and clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct and communicate risk assessments for workshop activities.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

- Reports to: Senior Management, Monart Pty Ltd
- Supervises: Workshop and casual staff
- Internal: Monart teams including sales, operations, and project management
- External: Clients, suppliers, and industry contacts
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Extensive experience in workshop management, particularly in relevant industries.
- Proficiency with materials like metals and timber.
- Strong knowledge of machinery maintenance.
- Deep understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in modern technology and management systems.
- Commitment to organisational change and continuous improvement.
Desirable:
Interest or experience in performing arts, gym installations, or education.
- CAD competency.
- Forklift and heavy machinery licenses.
- Experience with electronic records management systems.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
