Crane Truck Driver – Lamcal Hardware and Timber

We are a busy and established timber yard looking for a reliable and experienced Crane Truck Driver to join our team.
You’ll be responsible for delivering timber and building materials to customers and construction sites across Melbourne, operating our crane truck for loading and unloading, and assisting around the yard when required.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver timber and building materials safely and efficiently
- Operate a truck-mounted crane to load and unload timber and building materials
- Safely position and operate the crane at construction sites and customer properties
- Secure loads correctly and complete daily pre-start checks
- Communicate with builders, trades and customers
- Assist with loading orders and general yard duties when required
- Keep the truck and crane clean and well maintained
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements
What we’re looking for
- Current Victorian heavy rigid licence suitable for the truck being driven
- Current/appropriate crane licence or qualification for operating a truck-mounted crane
- Previous crane truck experience
- Experience in timber, building supplies or construction is highly desirable
- Forklift license is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of load restraint and safe crane operation
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of handling timber and building materials when required
