As a Senior Child Safety Officer, you will:
Recruit, assess and provide advice, education and support to foster and kinship carers, including complying with legislative requirements, departmental policies and procedures.
Effectively and positively engage with current and potential foster and kinship carers as required to support them in their roles as carers and their engagement with the department.
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, children and parents to support the establishment and strengthening of effective safety and support networks, including connection to extended family and community.
Provide high quality, comprehensive casework support and advice to assist in informing decisions about the safety and protective needs of children where complex child protection concerns are present.
Participate effectively as a team member in a multidisciplinary team to deliver well-planned family support services to vulnerable children and families.
Actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning, training and professional development, to ensure practice knowledge and skills are contemporary and evidence based.
Prepare and maintain quality case records in accordance with departmental case management requirements
Your mandatory requirements:
Possession of or able to obtain a blue card administered by the Queensland Public Safety Business Agency.
Travel is a requirement of this position; therefore, it is a requirement that the applicant hold a current 'C' Class Drivers licence.
