About Trafficwerx NT
Trafficwerx NT is a locally owned and operated Northern Territory traffic management company, providing traffic control and road safety services across Darwin and throughout the NT.We operate a growing fleet of more than 50 Vehicles, including light vehicles, utes, light trucks and traffic management equipment. We are looking for an experienced Qualified Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join our Winnellie workshop and help keep our fleet safe, compliant and on the road.
About the Role
This is a hands-on mechanic position working across a busy construction and traffic management fleet.You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing vehicles and equipment to ensure they remain safe, reliable and compliant.The role may suit an experienced mechanic looking for flexible hours in Darwin.This position may qualify as specified regional work for eligible Working Holiday Visa holders seeking second or third-year visa extensions.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair light vehicles, utes and small trucks
- Carry out preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs
- Complete vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs as required
- Ensure vehicles are maintained to required safety and operational standards
- Complete maintenance tasks within agreed timeframes
- Keep accurate maintenance and inspection records
- Identify potential issues before they become major problems
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and safe work practices
- Work independently while communicating effectively with the Trafficwerx NT team
About You
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- A recognised trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician
- Minimum 5 years' relevant hands-on experience preferred
- Experience servicing light vehicles and light trucks
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety
- Good communication skills and the ability to speak and understand English fluently
- A current Australian driver's licence
- Your own hand tools is advantageous
- The ability to work within required timeframes and to a high standard
Previous experience working with construction, civil, mining or traffic management fleets will be highly regarded.
