Team Leader – Australian Direct Tutoring
Australian Direct Tutoring (ADT) is seeking a motivated, organised and people-focused Team Leader to join our growing education team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional, Academic Trainer, senior tutor or emerging leader who is ready to take the next step in their career and contribute to the success of students, families and our Academic Trainer network.
With 17 years of operation, Australian Direct Tutoring supports students and families across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and North Queensland, delivering personalised tutoring and educational support across a range of learning needs.
The Role
As a Team Leader, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day performance of Academic Trainers and ensuring students receive a consistent, professional and high-quality tutoring experience.
You will act as a key point of communication between Academic Trainers, Student Services, families and management, while helping to ensure that tutoring programs are delivered in accordance with ADT's standards, learning plans, policies and procedures.
This role is suited to someone who can lead by example, communicate professionally, solve problems independently and take ownership of their responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Trainer Leadership
- Support and guide Academic Trainers in their assigned team.
- Monitor trainer engagement, communication and professional conduct.
- Assist trainers with student learning plans, session preparation and reporting.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to improve trainer performance.
- Encourage trainers to communicate proactively with Team Leaders and Student Services.
- Identify concerns or performance issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Support new Academic Trainers as they transition into their role.
Student & Family Support
- Monitor the quality and consistency of student tutoring services.
- Review student progress and identify areas requiring additional support.
- Assist with resolving student, parent or trainer concerns.
- Support communication between families, Academic Trainers and ADT.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up occurs when concerns or missed sessions arise.
- Promote a positive and professional customer experience.
Academic Quality & Compliance
- Ensure Academic Trainers are following ADT learning and reporting standards.
- Monitor completion of Learning Plans and Trainer Reports.
- Encourage curriculum-aligned tutoring practices.
- Support the implementation of diagnostic assessments and intervention strategies.
- Ensure required documentation and communication is completed accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with ADT policies and procedures.
Team Management
- Conduct regular communication with Academic Trainers.
- Provide weekly updates, reminders and operational information.
- Monitor team workload, responsiveness and task completion.
- Assist with allocating or reallocating work when required.
- Identify operational issues before they affect students or customers.
- Work collaboratively with other Team Leaders and management.
Systems & Administration
- Maintain accurate records within ADT's management systems.
- Monitor Microsoft Teams communication and respond to important matters promptly.
- Use ADT systems to review student, trainer and operational information.
- Complete administrative tasks within required timeframes.
- Ensure information is recorded accurately and professionally.

Education Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Tutoring or academic training.
- Education or teaching.
- Team leadership or supervision.
- Student support.
- Customer service.
- Education administration.
- Youth or community services.
- University leadership or mentoring.
Previous formal management experience is not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated leadership potential, independence and a willingness to take responsibility.
