About the role
As a Business Partner – People & Culture, you will play a pivotal role in delivering people-first solutions that enable our teams and volunteers to thrive. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll partner closely with leaders and managers to provide expert guidance across the full employee lifecycle—ensuring best practice, compliance, and a human-centred approach in everything we do.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you’ll influence organisational outcomes by building capability, strengthening culture, and leading through complex people matters. From coaching leaders and supporting business initiatives, to navigating sensitive employee relations issues and driving wellbeing programs, you will create organisation-wide impact.
You’ll also take the lead on complex workplace matters including grievances, investigations, and return-to-work cases—while championing positive change and continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with specialist teams and external partners, you’ll help embed People & Culture strategies that truly support our people.

About you
As an experienced People & Culture practitioner, you’ll demonstrate contemporary knowledge and expertise in leading workplace investigations; and effectively managing grievances.
You will have proven knowledge of Modern Awards (in particular SCHADS), Fair Work Act, and National Employment Standards and demonstrated ability in providing advice and recommendations relevant to legislative frameworks across best practice methodology.
With a contemporary approach to stakeholder engagement, you will demonstrate a strong ability in developing effective and valued relationships with executive leadership, senior leaders and the broader business.
Skills and experience
- Sound technical knowledge and expertise in operational Human Resources (HR)
- Experience project planning and implementation including experience in leading processes of workplace change amidst restructures and business transformation activity
- Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and interpret data to make considered and ethical decisions with the ability to clearly describe the rationale behind decisions and recommendations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage, support, challenge and influence: working with internal stakeholders to problem solve providing pragmatic, best practise solutions to emerging people issues.
- Ability to provide quality P&C advice and internal consultancy support which are directly related to the organisation’s strategic direction and business needs
- Ability to coach and upskill managers to effectively manage people issues within their teams
- Sound technical knowledge and experience in interpretation and application of industrial instruments
- Ability to work under general direction from senior employees, work independently and with people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environment
- Ability to set priorities, plan and organise their own work to manage and support the competing needs of the client group and P&C initiatives
