Primary objective
Provide high-level strategic advice, customer relationship management and financial due diligence on the management and
delivery of the Territory Growth Initiative. This initiative drives economic development by supporting significant private
sector projects and high-growth businesses. The team provides strategic advice, manages key stakeholder relationships,
conducts financial due diligence, and administers programs that offer financial support, including the Collaborative
Investment Program, Territory Infrastructure Loans, and the Paspalis Co-Investment Fund.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Led operational management of the Territory’s investment programs to facilitate growth of significant and regionally
important private sector projects.
2. Promote the Territory’s advisory, loan, and equity mechanisms to the target market, including business and project
proponents and their partners, explain application requirements.
3. Develop strong networks and relationships to build the pipeline of enquiries and insights.
4. Assess applications to access support from the NT Government, identify, and analyse critical success and risk factors,
and translate this analysis to recommendations and advice.
5. Oversee, manage and monitor team members and the portfolio of clients, and prepare updates, briefings and agenda
papers as required.
6. Prepare and deliver briefings and reports addressing financial and commercial aspects of portfolios.
7. Ensure the quality of analysis and recommendations addressing applications to access funding support are of a high
standard.
8. Develop and maintain strong working relationships and collaborative partnerships with a range of government and
external parties, including in regional areas.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience at a senior level in assessing applications for funding support in a commercial, credit focussed environment,
forming recommendations on how proposed transactions should be arranged to protect the interests of the Territory.
2. Strong and proven conceptual, analytical and research skills with the ability to develop strategic and commercial solutions.
3. Demonstrated understanding of business drivers and ability to identify critical success and risk factors affecting
outcomes.
4. Demonstrated ability to critically analyse all forms of financial statements, interrogate financial models and scenario
analysis.
5. Demonstrated high-level communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to engage
with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior government and non-government executives.
6. Proven ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
2. Experience in commercial banking and/or investment environments.
3. An understanding of portfolio management principles.
