About the role
We are looking for a qualified Carpenter to join our site teams on residential projects across the Eastern Suburbs. This is a full-time, ongoing position of 38 hours per week, based on site and reporting to the Site Manager.
What you will be doing
- Working from architectural, structural and shop drawings, plans and specifications, and setting out from them
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining timber and timber substitutes
- Constructing and erecting wall frames, floor systems, roof frames and structural timber elements
- Erecting and stripping formwork for concrete structures
- Installing external and internal elements — cladding, linings, doors, windows, decking, stairs and balustrades
- Fixing architraves, skirtings, joinery and internal fit-out components to a high-end finish
- Ordering and taking delivery of materials, checking quantities against orders, and managing material handling on site
- Carrying out repairs, remedial works and defect rectification
- Operating and maintaining hand and power tools and site equipment safely
- Working to the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, SWMS and site safety requirements
- Assisting with the supervision of apprentices and labourers on site
What you will need
- Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220), or an equivalent trade qualification or formally recognised skills
- Demonstrated experience working as a carpenter in residential construction
- The ability to read and set out from architectural and structural drawings without close supervision
- A current NSW Construction Induction card (White Card)
- A current Australian driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Your own basic hand tools
- A working knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and WHS obligations
- Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work well in a site team
- The right to work in Australia
Nice to have
- Experience on architecturally designed high-end homes
- Formwork and structural timber framing experience
- First Aid certificate, Working at Heights or EWP ticket
What we offer
- $80,000 - $90,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience
