We’re looking for a Communications Advisor to join our Corporate Affairs team and support the delivery of strategic communications for key energy transition initiatives across NSW. You’ll help communities, industry and government understand the benefits and opportunities of the state’s clean energy transformation.
This exciting opportunity will see you partner with policy, project and technical specialists to develop audience-focused communication plans, engaging content, and clear, consistent and compelling key messages that build awareness and understanding of key initiatives. You’ll use data and insights to inform your approach and provide evidence-based advice to help teams improve the effectiveness of their communications activities.
As a member of the Strategic Communications branch, you’ll work collaboratively across the Department and build strong working relationships with internal and external partners to plan and coordinate communications programs.
About You
You’re an experienced communications professional with a strong track record of delivering strategic communication initiatives in complex, fast-paced environments. You can translate technical, policy or project information into clear, engaging and accessible communications for a variety of audiences.
You are highly organised, adaptable and solutions-focused, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your ability to build productive relationships, influence stakeholders and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams allows you to achieve positive outcomes. You bring sound judgement, political awareness and a proactive approach to identifying communication risks and opportunities, ensuring communications are delivered effectively and aligned to organisational objectives.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in communications or other relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
