The Role
Join us as Events & Conference Manager and play an important role in delivering some of Melbourne's most significant and high-profile events.
Reporting to the Senior Event Manager, this role supports the successful planning and coordination of conferences, exhibitions, corporate functions and special events across Crown Melbourne's Events & Conferences portfolio.
Working closely with clients, internal planning teams and operational stakeholders, you will manage events end-to-end, ensuring exceptional client experiences and seamless event delivery. You will also support the wider Events & Conferences team by coordinating event requirements, building strong client relationships and contributing to commercial and operational outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Plan and coordinate conferences, exhibitions, corporate functions and special events from initial enquiry through to successful delivery.
Partner closely with clients to understand event objectives, requirements and expectations.
Develop event plans, timelines, run sheets and event documentation to support seamless event execution.
Coordinate event requirements with operational teams to ensure all client expectations are clearly communicated and delivered.
Manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Monitor event progress and proactively identify and resolve planning issues or client concerns.
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships throughout the event planning process.
Identify opportunities to maximise event revenue through upselling and effective management of client requirements.
Ensure all event details, contractual requirements and planning milestones are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
Support forecasting, reporting and administration requirements within the Events & Conferences team.
Ensure events are planned and delivered in accordance with applicable laws, licences, work health and safety requirements, responsible service obligations, Crown policies, risk controls and mandatory compliance requirements.
Promote a proactive safety, risk and compliance culture, ensuring incidents, hazards and compliance concerns are promptly reported and appropriately managed.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning processes, client satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
About You
You are an experienced events professional with a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy managing multiple event requirements while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Highly organised and client-focused, you build trusted relationships with stakeholders and take pride in ensuring events are delivered seamlessly from planning through to execution.
You will also bring:
Demonstrated experience planning conferences, exhibitions, corporate events or large-scale functions within a hospitality, events or conference environment.
Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to understand and deliver diverse event requirements.
Experience developing event documentation, timelines, run sheets and event specifications.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across clients, suppliers and internal teams.
Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
Experience coordinating complex event requirements and delivering successful client outcomes.
Proficiency with event management systems and technology platforms.
