We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Performance & Control Systems Specialist to improve the reliability, availability, and performance of our specialised rail maintenance fleet. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in PLC programming, industrial automation, electrical control systems, and reliability improvement who is looking to make a significant impact within a specialised engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyse fleet performance and maintenance data.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, and diagrams.
- Organise and oversee inspections and maintenance of machines and plant.
- Ensure designs, modifications and completed work meet specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
- Improve fleet reliability, availability, and performance.
- Develop and optimise PLC programs and machine control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation and control system faults.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Support machine upgrades, commissioning, and new technology projects.
- Maintain electrical, control system and maintenance documentation, including LOTO requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardisation initiatives.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to maintenance teams.
- Work with OEMs, suppliers, and contractors on engineering projects.
- Promote a strong safety culture and compliance with company standards.
Requirements
- Electrical Trade Qualification.
- At least four years relevant experience.
- Experience with PLC programming, industrial automation, and machine control systems.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience in reliability improvement, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to develop and implement engineering solutions that improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Experience working with OEMs, contractors, and technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Ability to travel to various sites as required.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to engineering standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
