About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an Enrolled Nurse with an interest in foot health to join the Moree Community Health team as a Foot Care Nurse. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary environment alongside nursing, allied health and visiting podiatry services, you will play an important role in promoting foot health, comfort and wellbeing across the community. This rewarding position focuses on providing preventative foot care services, particularly for older people, while supporting health promotion and early intervention initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work autonomously while benefiting from ongoing professional support, including mentoring, shadowing with the current Foot Care Nurse, education sessions with visiting podiatrists, and placement opportunities with established foot care teams at other sites.
About the Role
Working within your scope of practice, you will deliver a range of preventative foot care services, including:

Cutting and filing non-pathological toenails (including minor, asymptomatic onychomycosis)

Removal of superficial or asymptomatic callus and debris from interdigital areas

Providing foot hygiene care

Applying moisturising agents
-
Educating clients on foot health, preventative care strategies, and appropriate footwear selection
About You
You are a compassionate and self-motivated Enrolled Nurse who enjoys supporting people to maintain their independence and wellbeing within a community setting.
You will bring:

Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse

Completion of an accredited face-to-face Basic Foot Care course (minimum one day, including skills and competency assessment), or a willingness to undertake the required training

Completion of aseptic technique training

The ability to work independently and effectively manage your workload

A genuine interest in working with older people and promoting preventative health
-
Previous experience as a Foot Care Nurse or completion of relevant foot care training (desirable)
